Event Associate

Position Description:

This position has great potential for growth in responsibilities and income. Responsibilities include supporting Event Managers, as well as managing the functions of our office.

Assignment Focus:

  1. Assure all tasks necessary to orchestrate a successful event are executed efficiently and effectively and coordinated with the Event Manager and the Association Executive.
  2. Assure exceptional service delivery in the production of the event.
  3. Assure all assigned activities are completed in a timely fashion.
  4. Updating of client websites and content management.
  5. Oversee speaker management process.

Role:

The Event Associate is responsible for executing event related support tasks on behalf of our clients, as well as managing some administrative tasks.  

Position Requirements:

  • University degree in hospitality, business, marketing or related field
  • Minimum 3 years office experience required; 3 years experience in event management or related field is preferred
  • Ability to develop professional relationships in all aspects of the position that result in stable, consistent, reliable, and courteous communication when dealing with other organizations
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently in changing and multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
  • Proven ability to take direction and input that will achieve the organization's goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Solid business acumen, management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), event management technologies, and customer relationship management software
  • Ability to travel is required
  • Standard work hours: M-F, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, some weekends required during events
